One of my all-time favorite (and I think terribly underrated) Marvel villains may be in Guardians of the Galaxy: the Kree bad-ass Ronan the Accuser. The same Ronan the Accuser that has in past kicked the asses of both the Fantastic Four and the Avengers. Now that’s a villain. I think he’d be a great choice for GOTG.

And, no, he is not “Space Thor”, though I can see why some people call him that — especially the people who are only familiar with Marvel’s characters through the movies. If Marvel uses him, they’ll have to be careful that the super strong Kree with the energy hammer isn’t seen as a rip off of the super strong Asgardian with the energy hammer.

Great scene, huh? Yep, sure is. One question though: how does Hulk know his name is Hulk? It’s not like he introduces himself as Hulk when he meets people. The military called him “Hulk” in reference to his size, but it was more of a descriptive than anything else. When did it become his name and why does he answer to it? I mean, maybe he already had a name. For all we know his name is really Cleavon or Andre and he’s wondering “Why does everyone call me “Hulk”?”. Or maybe it’s an incredible (no pun intended) coincidence. His actual name could be Hulkerton J. Smashington, but just plain “Hulk” is acceptable.

Or maybe it was like naming a dog? If you scream the word “Rover!” every time a dog craps on the carpet then eventually that dog will associate the word “Rover” with himself. It could be after hearing “Hulk” so often, the big green guy came to associate it with himself?

I dunno. It just struck me, that’s all. And I’m just talking about the movie Hulk here. The comic book Hulk is a whole ‘nother can of worms.

Rumor is Jeremy Renner is done playing Hawkeye. I thought as much because I haven’t seen his name mentioned once in any of the Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 2 announcements. No offense, but will anyone really notice? Personally I’ve never been a big Hawkeye fan. I mean, with a Thunder God, a Sentinel of Liberty, an Armored Titan and an unstoppable Green Juggernaut, will anyone really miss the guy with the bow and arrow? What do you think? Any Hawkeye/Renner fans out there saddened by this announcement?

Man, this guy.

Tibor here was working with an industrial saw when he accidentally cut off his own right arm. So what did Tibor do? Did he freak out? Cry? Crap his pants? Hell no. Tibor picked up his bloody limb, said a hearty “Fuck you!” to losing consciousness from blood loss, drove himself almost 10 miles to a hospital, shoved the wayward arm in the doctor’s face and demanded: “Reattach this fucker!”. I like to imagine that the hand of the arm was giving the finger at the time.

God-damn. Tibor’s sheer manly awesomeness just raised the fucking bar for the rest of us. Now the next time I want to call into work sick because I don’t feel like going I‘ll be forced to think that somewhere in the world there’s a one-armed Hungarian wildly driving one of those fucked up post-war standard shift European cars while blood’s shooting from his arm-stump like lava and ash from Vesuvius, his severed arm clinging desperately to the passenger seat’s seat belt for fear of its waning life.

And I’ll get out of bed and go to work.
